Claim financial government incentives for green energy.

The transition to renewable energy in Australia means support from the government to incentivise businesses into renewable energy technology. Peoples first thought is to solar and while it is an effective method of energy production it doesn’t always meet the needs of larger scale operations especially if conditions aren’t optimal. While solar and wind have large role to play in the transition to renewables, waste to energy (WtE) is a heavy hitter in tackling the renewable energy transition while also solving our waste crisis.

Certificates and Units

Large-Scale Generation Certificate (LGC): One LGC is equal to one megawatt hour (MWh) of net electricity generated by a renewable energy generation system. LGCs can be traded for a monetary value.

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs): A STC (Small-scale Technology Certificate) represents one megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity generated or displaced by a solar hot water, heat pump, solar PV, small wind or micro-hydro system. STCs can be traded for a monetary value.

Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU): An ACCU is a unit issued to a person by the Clean Energy Regulator by making an entry for the unit in an account kept by the person in the electronic Australian National Registry of Emissions Units. Each ACCU issued represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent stored or avoided by a project. ACCUs can be traded for a monetary value.

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEEC): Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) are electronic certificates created under the program when certain energy efficiency activities are undertaken in residential  or non-residential premises. Each certificate represents one tonne of greenhouse gas emissions reduction (CO2-e). VEECs can be traded for a monetary value.

Energy Saving Certificates (ESC): Energy savings certificates (ESCs) are tradable certificates, similar to renewable energy certificates (RECs), that typically represent one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy savings from efficiency projects. ESCs can be traded for a monetary value.

Grants,Funding and Support Programs

Advancing Renewables Program (ARP): ARP supports a range of development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects. This includes opportunities to optimise the transition to renewable electricity, commercialise clean hydrogen and support the transition to low emissions metals.

Regional Australia Microgrid Pilots Program (RAMPP): The Regional Australia Microgrid Pilots Program (RAMPP) supports pilot demonstrations of microgrid technologies in rural and regional Australia.

Inovation Fund: Emerging Australian technologies & businesses that can accelerate Australia’s transition to a renewable energy economy.

While this isn’t an exhaustive list, we’re confident that support and other initiatives will continue to be created to help assist businesses in their transition to renewables. We can help you secure support for funding or certificates//units created from a project. If you’re interested in working with us please just contact us here or view our range of products here.
