Cogeneration vs CHP vs CHP Cogeneration
You may see the terms Cogeneration, CHP, and CHP Cogeneration used in various areas across the Inoplex website and other cogeneration information sites. Often the terms are used interchangeably, however, the term cogeneration tends to be used to describe the process, while CHP is used to refer to the actual power plant.
Cogeneration
The process of generating power whilst also utilising the heat created from electricity generation operation.

CHP or Combined Heat and Power
Combined Heat and Power or CHP is the term often used to describe the physical power plant in which the waste heat created from the engine operation is captured and utilised for things such as heating water, cleaning, steam, and manufacturing.
